The Rebecca Dykes Foundation

The Rebecca Dykes Foundation is dedicated to the creation of stable communities in Lebanon and in particular improving the lives of refugees and vulnerable host communities living there, and through women’s empowerment. It also supports projects with similar objectives in the UK. It was established in December 2017 after Rebecca's friends, family and colleagues wished to channel the energy that Rebecca's life and work inspired in them.

The Foundation continues to be a means for those closest to Rebecca - and others who share her ambition for a kinder and safer world - to continue the work that Rebecca cared about so deeply.

A symbol of the enduring nature of Rebecca’s work is the Lebanese cedar sapling we have planted in the Al Shouf nature reserve in her memory. The cedar tree grows slowly in tough conditions but, slowly but surely, reaches to gigantic proportions. Rebecca’s legacy is like that sapling. With help from the Foundation, our aim is that her legacy, and the work she believed in, will continue to grow.
— Harriet Dykes, Rebecca's sister, speaking at the Lebanese Embassy in London
